About Us

Who We Are

The Refined by Fire Project’s name comes from 1 Peter 1:6-7 which says, “In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith-of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire-may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.”

When we found that verse in my Bible, we thought “that would make a cool name for a band”. So we established “Refined by Fire (The Band)” or as it was later dubbed “The Refined by Fire Project” in 2005.

In 2007, Joel founded The Refined by Fire Board of Directors, which now our managing organization.  RBF now helps make dreams of having a band possible, as well as providing resources for Christian Bloggers.

However, it wasn’t until 2008that The Refined by Fire Project got it’s act together.

We are in the process of recording our new single, and preparing promotional CD’s and print media for distribution.

    I think that is REALLY cool how you got the name!! I wouldn’t have thought it would be a cool name but it is!!

    WOW that is one of my favorite verses I think your band name is Great I cant even figure out a name for my band yet
    but that one is acctually deep and it has a lot of spiritual meaning

    Jenna loves RBF :)
    She hopes that they will soon put out a song on itunes.
    She thinks that the 40 cover is awesome :)
